Lesson for Ash Shahid: The Witness

The names Shahid means to witness as we witness things with our 5 senses.  When we recite the Shahada we are saying that we witness that there is one Allah (s) and that Muhammad (s) is a prophet of Allah (s).  The recitation of this name is an antidote to attachment.
Suggested discussion questions:

What does it mean to witness?

What are the 5 ways we can witness something we experience?

What do we witness when we recite the Shahada?

What do we become attached to?  Why is attachment sometimes bad?
Display:

We suggest you choose a space that can accommodate all the 99 Names or to fix the names to a fold out accordion book in sequence if you do not have an appropriate space available.

Please share your ideas for teaching children about the 99 Names of Allah (s).
