Lesson for Ar Raqib: The Watchful One
The name Raqib means the watchful one like an eagle surveying the landscape and focusing on one point. This name is realted to the word Muraqaba or concentration for internal and external sight. This concentration can be a form of meditation. The recitaion of this name helps with focus.
Suggested discussion questions:
What does watchful mean?
Have you every tried meditaion? What did you experience?
What things do you do to help yourself focus when you have a difficult task?
We suggest you choose a space that can accommodate all the 99 Names or to fix the names to a fold out accordion book in sequence if you do not have an appropriate space available.
Please share your ideas for teaching the meaning of the 99 Names: A Visual Tasbih to children.
