Lesson for Al Hafiz: 38 The Preserver
The name Hafiz means the preserver or protector. This name can also mean to know the secret. For this medallion we chosen to depict the parting of the Red Sea by Musa (a) in order to protect the believers who were trying to escape and Musa (a) knew the secret of that power that opened the way. The recitation of this name gives protection from fear, despair and hopelessness.
Suggested discussion questions:
What does it mean to preserve?
Do you know a secret that gives you special powers?
What do you do when you feel afraid or hopeless?
We suggest you choose a space that can accommodate all the 99 Names or to fix the names to a fold out accordion book in sequence if you do not have an appropriate space available.
Please share your ideas for teaching the meaning of the 99 Names: A Visual Tasbih to children.
