Assist the students with ideas for the artwork for this name or ask them to make their own interpretation of the medallion provided here:
Lesson for Al Adl: The Just
The name Adl means the balancing of opposite names or the harmonizing of opposites. The recitation of this name can help you to gain clarity and insight when you feel powerless. For this medallion we chose to depict a scale that is balanced.
Suggested discussion questions:
What does justice mean?
What does balance mean?
How can we balance two things that are opposite?
What does harmonize mean?
We suggest you choose a space that can accommodate all the 99 Names or to fix the names to a fold out accordion book in sequence if you do not have an appropriate space available.
Please share your ideas for teaching the meaning of the 99 Names: A Visual Tasbih to children.
