Sira: Hudaybiyah

Tonight we reviewed the story of the treaty at Hudaybiyah.  This is the treaty that made peace between the Muslims and the Quraysh in Mecca.  The agreement allowed the Muslims to return as pilgrims to the Kabba the following year.

While the Muslims waited at Hudaybiyah for negotiations to begin the Prophet (s) made the well to fill with water when he mixed muddy water with his saliva and an arrow was shot into the well.  One version of the story of Dalial Khirat had a similar detail about brining water from a well.  We wonder if the two stories are connected.

After the treaty was signed the Muslims renewed their allegiance to the Prophet (s) under an acacia tree.
