Malwid crafts: Ababil

This year when I hung the ornaments for the Mawlid holiday my 3 year old was disappointed that Mahmud the elephant and the ababil birds were missing.

When I was planning for our children’s Mawlid party this year I decided to include the ababil birds as one of our crafts.

I used another bird template to make the shape and then added the red stone in the beak of each bird.

Please share your ideas for celebrating the Mawlid story with children.
