Sira: Zalmusa

Tonight we read about the birth story of the Prophet (a) in the children’s Sira The Light of Muhammad by Hajjah Amina Adil.

I asked my son what his favorite part of the Prophet’s (s) birth story was and he said that he wanted to see Zalmusa dance in the sea.

He asked me if this dancing made tsunamis everywhere on the earth because of the size of Zalmusa.  I said maybe.

Next we learned a little bit about the Dalail Khirat because there are so many salawats and praises of the Prophet (a) and one of the salawats holds the secret of walking on the water.  My son said that he wanted to do a project about the Dalail Khirat.  I told him that we can but I need to prepare it.

For Mawlid this year we made ornaments for Zalmusa in our Mawlid Mobile.

Please share your ideas for teaching the Sira of the Prophet (s) to children.
