Tonight we reviewed the story of Sayyidina Khidr (a) who held the secret of the Prophet (s) for Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q).
The story mostly recounted Sayyindina Khidr’s (a) adventures with Musa (a). We learned that when the fish came alive and then jumped into the river then Musa (a) would know he had found his teacher.
According to this story the lessons did not go at all well and Musa (a) had difficulty understanding the actions of Sayyindina Khidr (a). My son was confused on the same points as Musa (a) when Khidr (a) made a hole in the boat, killed the little boy and repaired the wall. After Khidr (a) explained his actions my son still wanted to know more about the little boy, like where is he now. I said maybe because he passed away early before he made sins that he would be in Jenna with his parents but only Allah (s) knows for sure. My son liked this idea.
My son was also intrigued which the power Khidr (a) had in his finger and that he did not seem to need a staff or a magic wand to make things happen.
Khidr (a) still walks the earth so we have placed him in the map compass and not a city on the map.
