Last weekend we had a marshmallow roast in the country. This was the first time my sons helped build an open fire and cook something in the flames.
My husband took this opportunity to tell our sons the story of Ibrahim (a) and the fire that Nimrood built to burn him. My sons were very surprised that the fire did not harm Ibrahim (a) especially when they saw what the flames did to the marshmallows. This story can be very engaging for children since the bee, the nightengale and the lizard among others, all appear as characters at the fire of Ibrahim (a).
If you would like to read about Ibrahim (a) to your children there is a chapter concerning his story in My Little Lore of Light by Hajjah Amina Adil.
Please share your ideas for teaching children about the lives of the Prophets (s).
