Whirling Dervish

The whirling practice is used to connect with the divine.  You raise your right hand to receive from the divine and lower the left to distribute this energy to the earth. Groups of whirlers can represent the planets of the solar system turning on their axis.

My son says he likes whirling because he likes being dizzy.

Children naturally love to spin so this spiritual practice is one of the many things that they can do as children in Islam while other practices like fasting and prayer can take more time to learn.

Please share your ideas for teaching children Islamic spiritual practices.
