Musa: Asiya

Tonight we heard the story of when Musa (a) threw down his staff and it turned into a dragon.  My son was really interested in the amazing staff and said that he wanted to go see it in the Topkapi museum in Istanbul.  He thought that if the museum would let him throw the staff down it would turn into a dragon.

We learned that this demonstration of divine power impressed the Pharaoh and that he considered accepting the one God of Musa (a) on the good counsel of his believing wife Asiya (r).

Despite her counsel the Pahraoh was dissuaded by his evil advisor and rejected Musa’s (a) message.

Please share your ideas for teaching children about the lives of the Prophets.
