Lalla Malika and Amira

There are three lady Waliat in the maqam complex at Sidi Silmane Moul Al Kifane (q) in the countryside near Meknes Morocco.
The complex is beautiful and well maintained. There appeared to be cambers in the complex that were being rented by the people who come to visit the maqam, like a retreat. This is the first time I have seen a maqam with accommodations here in Morocco.

The maqam of these two ladies is located immediately to the right of Lalla Aicha (q).

Lalla Malika (q) and Lalla Amira (a) are behind a beautiful red door.

We were told that ladies come here and smear henna as part of their mousem celebration here.  You can see the henna still on the walls in this photo.

We were not able to find out more about her story or about why henna is on the wall but we were told that people visit this complex for help with Jinn problems.  We were told that one of the ways to combat bad Jinn energy is with henna so that is possibly why henna is used here.

Please share your experiences when you visit the Maqams of the Waliat and share them with us.

We ask Lalla Malika’s (q) and Lalla Amira’s (q) blessing on our project and we ask that our understanding of their contributions and their story are further revealed to us at another time.
