Tonight we learned about the diversity of beliefs in ancient Egypt. There were people who believed that the Egyptian pantheon represented the many faces of the one God similar to the way that we believe in the many names of Allah (s).
My son had many questions about these statues and faces and wanted to understand more about what the ancient Egyptians believed. We discussed it and then I showed him a short video about the Egyptian pantheon. He wanted to understamd why people believed in this pantheon so I explained that the people were following the understanding of their people or their parents.
This part of the story explained how important it was that Musa (a) was acquainted with both understandings of the divine in order to bring his message to the Egyptian people and to revive faith among the believers.
