Tonight we reviewed the story of the fourtieth figure on the Silsila: Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (q).
We learned about the miraj he made with his shaykh to the presence of the Prophet (s). My son said he wished he could go on Miraj as well because then he would want to do his prayers more.
We learned about his travels around the world to teach people. My son said that Shaykh Nazim could come teach him here if he travels all over the world.
Although it is not mentioned in the childrens’ version I also told my son about the seclusion that Shaykh Nazim (q) and his shaykh shared. At the end of their seclusion they heard crying outside and Shaykh Nazim (q) learned that this sound was Iblis crying because Shaykh Nazim (q) and Shaykh Abdallah (q) had escaped him.
We have enjoyed doing this project as a family each night at bedtime and we hope that you will share your family traditions for learning about the Awliya so that we can be inspired as well.
