Tonight we reviewed the story of the thirty-second figure on the Silsila: Ismail ash-Shirwani (q).
We learned that Shaykh Ismail (q) used unusual methods to teach his students. For instance, one day he led his followers up into the mountains and lay down near a family of wild lions. My son said that he would have been afraid the lions would eat him just as the followers of the shaykh were but the lions were tame when they came near the shaykh.
We learned that Shaykh Ismail (q) led his students to a river and walked across it as though there were a walking path. My son said that Shaykh Ismail (q) must have a secret for walking through the water and I agreed.
