Tonight we reviewed the story of the thirtieth figure on the Silsila: Abdallah ad-Dahlawi Shah Ghulam Ali (q).
We learned that Shaykh Abdallah (q) had a long seclusion with no food for 40 days to ask help from Allah (s). He was then taken up to the divine presence. I asked my son what he thought of not eating for so long. He said that he would like to do that but it would be too hard. I told him it would be too hard for me too.
We learned that Shaykh Abdallah (q) prayed for rain to come during a hot drought and Allah (s) answered his prayer. My son said he would have put a bucket out to catch the rain. We then talked about why Allah (s) answered Shaykh Abdallah’s (q) prayer.
