Tonight we reviewed the story of the twenty-sixth figure on the Silsila: Muhammad Masum (q).
We learned that Muhammad Masum (q) was made from clay left over from his father – Shaykh Ahmad (q) and Shaykh Ahmad (q) was made from the clay left over from making the Prophet Muhammad (s). My son asked if he was made from clay too. I told him yes and then he asked why he cannot feel the clay. I offered to put a clay face mask on him so that he could feel clay.
We also learned about the time Shaykh Muhammad Masum (q) rescued his follower from a sea storm. My son was intrigued with the idea of calling on his shaykh when in danger. I reminded him not to get himself into any danger in the first place if at all possible but that it is of course good to have a shaykh.
