Silsila: 12. Arif ar-Rivgari (q)

Tonight we reviewed the twelfth figure on the Silsila: Arif ar-Rivgari (q).

We learned about how the heart of a believer can be like a mountain, a palm tree or a feather.

My son wanted to know why the Silsila is called the Golden Chain as was mentioned in the chapter.  I admitted I wasn’t certain but that the chain means that the secret was passed from one shaykh to the next and its golden because the value of that secret and their guidance is high.  My son wanted to know why they don’t call it the Silver Chain so I explained the difference between gold and silver and how gold is more rare and therefore more valuable.

Please share your ideas for teaching children about the Awliya.
