Silsila: 8. Abu Ali al-Farmadi (q)

Tonight we learned about the eighth figure on the Silsila: Abu Ali al-Farmadi (q).

We learned that he was a scholar of Islam but followed his shaykh to learn the sorts of things about spirituality that are not found in books.

When his Shaykh went to the bath house he brought him a bucket of water and patiently waited.  His service to his Shaykh was accepted at this time.

My son wanted to know why Abu Ali (q) brought the water.  I told him that it was for the bath but he brought it to serve his Shaykh.  This story helped us to start a discussion about Adab with the Awliya.

Please share your ideas for teaching children about the Awliya.
