Last night we reviewed the story of Abu Bakr (r) who is the second in our Silsila. He carried the knowledge and secret of the Prophet (s) forward after his death.
In this story we learned more about the significance of the time that Abu Bakr (r) and the Prophet (s) hid in the cave of Thawr. At that time all the Shaykhs of the Silsila and their followers came for bayat to the Prophet (s) through Abu Bakr (r). My son and I discussed this point because this would mean that we were there too and he was curious to know more.
The other event that happened in the cave was the visit of the saffron colored snake. My son asked why the snake bit Abu Bakr (r) and I reminded him that the snake wanted to see the Prophet (s).
